The Truth Behind Hair and Lack of It
In a way, baldness has always been considered as “different” from
the social norm. This isn't true for every situation, of course, but there are
times when someone sees a bald person and immediately gets thoughts of cancer
or gangs as a knee-jerk reaction. That's just how stereotypes go sometimes:
some people can't help but have them at the back of their heads despite almost
never being justified. Truly, what a difference few strands of hair make.
The truth is you can't really make an accurate judgment on a
person's being just from how long his hair is; however, that doesn't mean hair
is unimportant. In fact, just as people can get insecure with falling hair,
others can gain confidence from having luxurious hair. Others, of course,
couldn't care less; but considering that some people may pick partners based on
how long or short their locks are, it's apparent that, to some degree, those
strands that grow out of your scalp are of great importance.
For the record, being bald doesn't automatically mean a person has
a terminal illness or is a member of a shady group. However, it's possible that
baldness changes how others perceive you and your actions. To some people,
that's perfectly all right; but to others—especially those who have lived their
lives with hair—it might just be an unfathomable concept. For this, at least,
it's always possible to get a hair transplant.
