Hair Transplant Procedures: FUE Verses FUT
Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE leaves tiny scars from the removal of each follicle by a small knife, and can implant 500-1,000 grafts per procedure. The Strip Harvesting method or FUT leaves a thin scar line and can implant 2,000-2,500 grafts per procedure. The FUE procedure is more costly and more painful, but the choice between these two procedures is usually based on the patients stage in hair loss and the patients desired hair length. FUT is appropriate for someone wishing for long hair, and has moderate to advanced hair loss. FUE is appropriate for shorter hair patients, and someone at beginning stage of hair loss.
